In brief, you should know the following about us: our village was established in the Middle Age (1376) and had been related from the past to an ancient Roman Causeway used to transport salted or smoked fish from harbors probably located in the nearby area. During the last century this village has become smallest by loosing as much as about 60% of its population mainly due to Guernica/Gernika,s industrial and consequent residential development. When industrial activities boomed in Guernica/Gernika during the start of seventies main proportion of inhabitants move to live there. It means that actually nature and wild life is in a very good condition because not too much pressure from population ever since and not other industry located in this area excepting just one stone quarry and a cow,s milk and fresh cheese farm. All the rest of economical or working activities remains fully dedicated to primary industry: agricultural, stockbreeding and forestry. Located nearest to Urdaibai (one of the most important European wild life reserves because its geographycal location half in distance of European bird,s migrations) there is possible to enjoy with different activities such birding, botanic, trekking and other outdoors activities with the advantage to be nearest Guernica/Gernika (6 kms). You cand find there all is not here: banking services, specialized shops, museums, press & magazines, postal services, restaurants, pubs, discos and whatever you will need. Added, in the nearest area you will find some spectacular seashore views and beaches.  If you like to practice any of these options and wish to enjoy calm and landscapes sometimes on nature, this is the right place for you.
